Pterophyllum scalare - Angelfish.

I love this fish. They are quite smart, paceful most of the time, a nice medium size and their sking is a nice bright white with black stripes. The black stripes are quite amazing actually, as they can turn them white (at least mine do!). Loos like the more bored andquite they are, the whiter they look to the point that you can't tell where the black stripes where.

As they get hungrier and more active, their strips come back.

They are very curious and quite nice to other fish, except for very small ones, as they are "food".

I have two Pterophyllum scalare living in my medium tank along some Ancistrus sp.

Pomacea bridgesii - Apple snail.

The apple snail is a nice addition to the aquariums. Not only it is actually nice to look at, but it helps in cleaning.Just don't too small snails where you also have Botia almorhae, as they eat them!

Paceful, hard working, and good looking, indeed a must have.

21 litre tank.

This small tank I originally bought to be a breeding or sick fish tank. When my bristlenose catfish spawned it was all ready to go, and in fact it was used twice by these fish!

At the moment I have a few of them (as they grew I put some of them in my 210l and 54l aquiariums) still there as well as two snails.

It has a small heater and an under the gravel filter.

It is decorated with natural white gravel, two medium sized river stones, one in a light brown tone and the other light grey. Also there is a pice of drift wood and there is some java moss.

Kryptopterus bicirrhis - Glass catfish.

The glass or ghost catfish is a very shy fish that likes to swim near something protectve like a rock or plants, better if along 3 or 4 mates. The transparency is quite amazing and they must actively do something to keep it because when they die they turn white.

Not very active except when it's dark. Looks like it just does not trust just in its transparency and prefers also the help of the night to wander around.

It doesn't seem to be very fast either.

Colisa lalia - Flame dwarf gourami.

This little gourami has a wonderful orange colour with some bright greenish dorsal fins.At the moment I have two of these, as they have proven a bit delicate in my aquarium and (appart from the Paracheirodon innesi that my Pterophyllum scalare ate!) are the fish that I had to replace quite often.

In some forums it mentions that inner breeding of these fish have made them a bit weak, and it seems to be very true.

Anyway, these fish add a lot of colour and a bit more of action than other bigger gouramis so I just try my best!

210 litre tank.

This aquarium includes a furniture with storage space below. It's made with a Jarrah coloured wood. It has 2 internal filters and a heater, as well as an external Jebao 304 filter.

It's decorated with some stones, sea snail shells, a big bivalve shell, a fews pieces of wood and a grey and pink stone. The soil is natural gravel.

It's located between the living room and the bar of the kitchen, dividing the two areas.
